Release the Beast
Madeira BA Imperial Stout
Totenhopfen Brauhaus collab
We are always looking for new flavours. Therefore, we’re also always on the hunt for new barrels te age our beers in!
We came up with the idea for Release the Beast when Sergio from Totenhopfen told us about his Portuguese roots. Of course we talked about Madeira and not much later we got together to start brewing an Imperial Stout. The fortified wine from the Madeira region has characteristics of roasted nuts, caramel and braised fruits. Flavours that work great with a heavy Imperial Stout. So we let the beer age on Portuguese Madeira barrels for a year, and the result is just fantastic!
The beer was named after the song by the American funk group Breakwater.
Time to release the beast!
