But of course there is also a world of other barrel-aged alcoholic drinks that are exciting to age beers on.
Like Pineau des Charentes. A local fortified wine from France in which grape ‘must’ is enriched with cognac up to an alcohol percentage of about 18 percent. It is a refreshingly sweet drink that, like port, is often enjoyed as an aperitif.
We brewed a special, extra smooth imperial stout and let it mature for a little over a year in Pineau des Charentes barrels. What does that yield? You have to experience this exciting journey for yourself….
