Joie de Vivre

Cognac barrel aged sour red ale

Joie de Vivre is our interpretation of a Flanders red ale. For this traditional beer style (Rodenbach for example), top-fermented beers are also fermented with lactic acid bacteria and matured in big wooden barrels called foeders. This results in complex sour beers with strong fruity flavours and aromas of plums, raisins and raspberries.

But we are also big fans of the American interpretation of these beers, which are usually even more complex and have higher amounts of alcohol.

Joie de Vive was matured on Cognac barrels for more than 2,5 years! It is a complex and fresh beer with a sweet hint, red fruits, apple, good balsamic vinegar… you can taste it all in this very exclusive beer!  Enjoy life, enjoy Joie de Vivre!
